James Cameron Brainstormed With Alien- Romulus Director And Writer

Alien: Romulus may not be arriving until later this summer, but we’re still looking forward to screaming in space again. Director Fede Álvarez and his co-writer, Rodo Sayague, are taking the franchise back to its horror roots from Ridley Scott’s Alien while also embracing the action of James Cameron’s Aliens. During a new interview with Total Film, Álvarez and Sayague recalled their consultation with Cameron was unexpectedly filled with small details including the size of the ship’s engines in the film.

“At the end of the phone call, [Cameron] thanked us for letting him brainstorm with us, which I found hilarious,” related Álvarez. “I was like, ‘You don’t have to thank us; it’s the best day ever for us!'”

Total Film also debuted a new image of Alien: Romulus’ main chara…

How To Get Exotic Class Items And Complete Destiny 2's Dual Destiny

In Destiny 2: The Final Shape, players can gain access to Exotic class items for the first time. You can obtain and farm Exotic class items through a repeatable mission, Dual Destiny. That comes complete with a tricky clock puzzle that requires the two players to cooperate closely.

Since The Final Shape’s launch, Bungie had already added the option to buy Exotic class items from Xur during certain weeks, but that still required you to have completed Dual Destiny on a given character. As of October 2024, there’s a new option temporarily available that will let you bypas…

The Thing Remaster Announced By Nightdive Studios

A remaster of The Thing, a 2002 action-adventure game based on John Carpenter’s classic 1982 film, is on the way.

Nightdive Studios–the developer behind game remasters ranging from franchises like Turok to Star Wars–teased on X (formerly known as Twitter) that it would reveal its next game on June 7. The image on the social media post below looks identical to the background of The Thing’s box art from the early 2000s, only in a different color from the original blue, leaving pretty much everyone to guess what was coming ahead of the full reveal.

Ubisoft Still Dedicated To Live-Service After Its Call Of Duty Competitor Came Up Short

Ubisoft recently made the shocking announcement that it would shut down its Call of Duty competitor, XDefiant, close Ubisoft San Francisco, and lay off nearly 300 people in what was just the latest unfortunate development for the people who make video games in this business. Now, internal memos from CEO Yves Guillemot and chief studios boss Marie-Sophie de Waubert have emerged.

Guillemot said in a memo obtained by Insider Gaming that the decision to cancel XDefiant, close Ubisoft San Francisco and Osaka, and ramp down its Sydney office was “among the most difficult decisions we’ve had to make.” Guillemot praised the XDefiant development team and its ambition to “challenge the best shooter on the market.” However, “it was not enough,” he admitted.

For those being laid off, Gu…

Horizon Forbidden West Nendoroid Figure Is On Sale For A Great Price

It’ll probably be a while before we see Aloy back in action inside of a new Horizon game, but for now, you can keep her adventurous spirit close by with this adorable Nendoroid figure, which is currently on sale for just under $50 (was $65). The figure joined Good Smile Company’s ever-expanding lineup of cute and customizable figures last year, and this is one of the lowest prices yet for the Aloy figure.

Compared to Funko Pops, these toys have a similar design philosophy but arguably do a much better job of capturing the charm and signature style of the characters they’re based on. For Aloy, her Nendoroid replica is based on her Forbidden West adventures and she comes with three interchangeable face plates to switch up her facial expressions. You also get optional parts like a sp…
